Terracina is a nice little town by the sea between Rome and Napels.
The old historical center upon the hill was already two thousand years ago, inhabited by Romans.
Today, a walk in the old lanes, will be both nice and interesting.

You can reach the beach by walking in five minutes - lovely white sand for several kilometers and in the background, towards the sunset, you can see the contour of Mount Circeo.
To the Ponza islands there is a ferry leaving from the harbour every morning.
Capri can also be visited in one day.
Pompei is another interesting place to see as well as Sperlonga, the nearest city south of Terracina.
It is easy to reach the surroundings by bus.
To Rome and Naples it is wise to take the train.
You certainly don't need a car in Terracina but there's the possibility to rent one even only for one day.
There's lots of restaurants both in the oldtown as in the modern part.
There are all kinds of shops and the market on thursday mornings should satisfy anyone's appetite for shopping!
